Tom Hanks' character, in the grip of a psychotic break in which he believes himself to be his fantasy alter ego, edges along the roofline of the World Trade Center in the film's climax.

Trivia: The story was loosely inspired by the real 1979 disappearance of Michigan State student James Dallas Egbert III, though the Dungeons & Dragons-related explanation reported at the time was later found to be inaccurate.
