Privacy Policy

This site collects the minimum information needed to run two features: the sighting submission form and the email newsletter signup. We do not use cookies or third-party advertising.

Analytics

We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to see aggregate traffic patterns — things like how many people visit and which pages are popular. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect any personal data, and cannot identify or track you individually or across other websites. There is nothing to opt out of because nothing personal is ever collected.

Sighting submissions

If you use the submission form, we store the film title you provide, any notes you add, and — only if you choose to share them — your name and email address. This information is used solely to review and, if verified, add the sighting to the archive. It is not sold or shared with third parties.

Email newsletter

If you sign up for the anniversary newsletter, we store your email address and the page you signed up from. We use this only to send the newsletter itself. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing us at the address below.

Where data is stored

Submitted and subscribed data is stored in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database. It is not publicly readable — write access is open so anyone can submit a sighting or subscribe, but reading that data back requires our internal moderation access.
