A street-level shot establishing the film's Brooklyn setting shows the twin towers rising above an elevated subway line as Omri is sent out on an errand to the hardware store.
Trivia: Although the story is set in Brooklyn, the film was shot mainly at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, with New York exteriors like this one used only to establish the setting.
